A Birmingham based sheet metal fabrication and component manufacturer are laying promising plans for the future, based on sound business activities. Rojac Ltd have benefitted from an upturn in demand across several of their operational areas and, whilst working at full capacity, they are not taking their success for granted.  The firm is busily endeavouring to map out their future by looking to the next generation.  With new staff on the shop floor, an apprenticeship underway and plans for a marketing intern, Rojac are set to continue their success and safeguard the future of the Company, which traces its
roots back to 1971.

Their dedication to maintaining a skilled workforce has seen them invest in training their own apprentice.  Jonathan Cox, Managing Director, explained: “It is increasingly hard to find candidates with the same level of skills as our existing workforce.  In September we decided to take on an apprentice as a step towards filling this skills gap and infusing the next generation with the same passion and enthusiasm for manufacturing that we have. ” The current apprentice benefits from the cutting edge equipment and considerable expertise on site as well as attending one day a week in college.  Jonathan added: “We are delighted with the work ethic and the progress being made by our current apprentice.  We are so impressed that we are planning to take on another apprentice in the next academic year. Having state-of-the-art equipment alone is not sufficient, preserving a skilled and flexible workforce is integral to maintaining the future prosperity of the industry.”

Furthermore, Rojac have plans in place to substantially step up their marketing activities.  In the first instance, Rojac are seeking to appoint a marketing graduate, with a bias towards engineering/ manufacturing, in an internship role. The high level of activity at the Company is providing the ideal time to enforce a marketing plan.  The Company intend to provide a blank canvas to the graduate, on which they can formulate the integration of social media, a refreshed website and a sustained marketing campaign.  Jonathan added: “We are proud of our manufacturing background and we need to promote it.  This will also enable us to make the most out of Made in the Midlands, develop our MIM microsite and pave the way for the candidate to make use of MIM as a hub of knowledge.”

Such developments at Rojac have been underpinned by significant business activity.  A number of projects are underway and as their customers become increasingly busy, Rojac have continued to provide high quality products and service to exceed their demands.  Their work is well received by a range of customers from large supermarket chains to media companies.  They have been particularly successful in working with transport companies and supplying a power generator manufacturer.

Furthermore, Rojac have benefitted from considerable demand in the domestic heating sector during the winter months and are now well set to meet the ensuing demand in the leisure sector throughout the coming summer months.  Commenting on their achievements, Jonathan said: “We generally have a two or three week lead time.  Currently, however, we are working at our maximum capacity and have a plethora of projects underway that will carry us through to the end of March.   Surveying activity across the spectrum of industry, it is evident that the outlook is significantly improving. ”

More specifically, the outlook is looking incredibly promising for Rojac Ltd and their keenness to infuse their well-established Company with new blood and new ideas is set to continue their future prosperity.
